For decades, the Monroe Truck Equipment team has found novel solutions for our municipal customers’ most persistent snow and ice problems.
Densely populated municipalities often have to deal with tight, winding roads without the space to safely lift debris, snow, etc into the dump body. Our new DTS (Dump, Tilt, Spread) Metro is a versatile and compact service truck designated to tackle a variety of snow and ice concerns. When winter roads aren’t a concern, municipalities can use the DTS Metro to tackle off-season road-clearing projects including refuse collecting, landscaping, pallet loading and more.
DTS Metro: An All-Season, Live Floor, Multi-Purpose Vehicle
The DTS Metro is an all-season, live floor, multi-purpose body, specifically designed for 19,000 GVW and higher chassis. This body features a standard dump body design with a double-acting tailgate, while incorporating a live conveyor on the left side. This allows for a left front discharge location of material, permitting the main framework of the body to remain in a lowered position.
With the floor tipped towards the left side, the material is directed into the conveyor and then into the spinner to spread material. This design helps keep a low center of gravity, while also discharging material in front of the chassis drive tires for maximum traction and greater vehicle stability.
The left side of the body can be lowered to give access to the interior of the body. The conveyor is multi-purpose. It can be used to discharge material year-round including: salt/sand, dirt, mulch, and small gravel. A berm chute can be used in place of the spinner for more direct placement of material. The discharge at the left front gives the driver a great visual of material usage and placement.
The stainless steel body construction guarantees years of use without the worry of deterioration, and the live floor is designed for rigorous applications. Though the body design is not new to the market, the incorporation of the live floor and fold-down side revolutionizes this vehicle. The DTS Metro offers more versatility than any other similar body style on the market.
Unmatched Versatile Use
The DTS Metro can accommodate nearly every task possible for a dump body application. Users have the flexibility to accommodate a huge number of tasks with this one service truck. From maneuverability on tight streets, to offloading materials, to garbage refuse pickup, dirt moving and distribution, snow and ice removal, salt spreading, and more, the DTS Metro provides incredible ROI as it can be easily converted for use 24/7/365.
